Without further ado though today, Leak Week is apparently over, although not for GTA if you've been keeping up on that, but I'm not just going to go on and on and on about the different GTA leaks. Instead we're talking about Double Fi, the indie studio that moved itself away from Xbox alongside other studios after Xbox hit the great reset button, hit the purge and didn't lay off and close as many studios as expected, but did lead to some Some people getting laid off, some people losing their jobs in the long term as Ben writes here, Double Fine had to lay off 20 people as part of the transition from having Xbox's support to no longer having it. However, like Compulsion Games, Double Fine is now looking to its next project. Double Fine is going to let players and fans decide that through a game jam, which is called the Amnesia Fortnite 2026, where basically it will see the developers at the studio pitching and showing off early concepts, getting involved in a game jam. Essentially, if you're not aware of what a game jam is, it's where developers make really, really basic ideas of a game to show off as sort of like mini-demos, really, really bare-bones stuff that can then get turned into a full game. Peak was born of a game jam, closer to Double Fine, their latest release Kiln was born from a game jam, so sometimes these do really turn into mega-hits, but things like perhaps Psychonauts 3, I guess, wouldn't be high on the list considering that's going to be quite Context, Context, Context, Context create some more interest in the long term. That's just speculation on my front, I should say. But yeah, it's gonna be hosted from the 31st of August, which is next week, next Monday, and it'll run through the majority of September. It'll have a Game Jam, a documentary, and a Kickstarter campaign all in one. So there's a lot of content coming out of Double Fine in this way, but it seems like a lot of the studios that in the summer or in the earlier months of the summer were in a very uncertain place of starting to find their feet. As I said before, Compulsion Games, the developer of South of Midnight, has now completed its departure from Xbox, which means that Essentially, any time you buy South of Midnight, if you want to buy it from now on, you will be funding Compulsion Games, you will not be funding Microsoft in the long run, if that matters to you. But hopefully we'll see more developers that are now distanced from Xbox find their fee with it and be better off in the long run because this has been a very turbulent time for them and we just hope that in the state of the industry that this is, that as many people can hold on to their jobs and positions as possible.
