Ang ika-10 henerasyon ng mga laro ng Pokémon ay opisyal na inihayag.
"Hello everyone, welcome back to GRTV News, I'm Alex going through the afternoons, latest and greatest when it comes to gaming, technology, entertainment, whatever you like and indeed whatever you love. I'm going to skip the rest of the intro because today is a very special day, it's Pokemon Day! But not only is it Pokemon Day, it's the reveal of the 10th generation of Pokemon because we're celebrating Pokemon's 30th anniversary and guess what, Pokemon Wind and Waves were announced. We kind of knew this was coming because they did get leaked last year in part of that massive leaks document that was basically told us about games that could have been, games that will be and games that had been, all from Pokemon's past, present and future. But now we know exactly what's coming in the near future with the next main line games as it's going to be two games set in a very sort of island-ish, oceanic world known as Pokemon Winds and Waves. I'll let the trailer play in the background as we go over this. Basically the main takeaway I think apart from the fact that this is a new game that the games look pretty gorgeous as well compared to the Pokemon games we've seen before in the past because these will be Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive titles, is that they are launching not in 2026, they are launching in 2027. Now, we don't know when exactly they're launching in 2027, we just know that they're coming sometime in that year. This makes the second occasion that Pokemon has revealed one of its biggest games, as the last occasion was Pokemon Legends ZA, in which we've not seen it reveal, we've not seen it release in the same year that it was revealed. What does this mean for the future of Pokemon's development? I don't know, but usually we could rely on Pokemon for revealing something and releasing it within the same year. This isn't exactly a huge blow as it's likely only going to improve the game quality considering it's going to take longer than usual for one to come out. It does mean that we're going the 30th anniversary without the 10th generation of games, but then again, life doesn't always work that way and time moves forward even if things aren't ready to be released. So, not to get too philosophical on May, but it's not that big of a deal, I don't think that we're not getting these games this year. What we do get though is, as you see there, a first tease of Cosplay Pikachu coming back, which is pretty impressive, but I'll just skip through past that stuff to show you more of the gameplay."
"You can see that while it does look rather similar, I could say in some aspects to something like Scarlet and Violet, especially when you're just walking along the ground. The lighting, the water, the detail there, seems to have massively improved alongside the quality of the models that we see in the Pokemon themselves. I'm not sure if there's a full refresh, but we have definitely seen at least some of the Pokemon look a lot worse in the 3D modelling era. So, we'll just have to see how this goes. It does look very exciting, it looks very open, hopefully it can really be the open world game that Pokemon fans have wanted for some time. The only new Pokemon we've got revealed are these 3 new starters that you're seeing on the screen right now. They are Gekua, Brout and Pombon, I believe the last one's called the Fire Starter. We'll see their names for ourselves in a few seconds, but yeah, that's all there is to take away. We've got news pieces now on the game itself, we've got news pieces on the starters and we've got news pieces on all the Pokemon that were found in this trailer. We also see at the end of the trailer, as you're about to see, going underwater, so that's probably going to be a big part of the gameplay as well."
"There's a lot to dig into, there's a lot to discuss. As I say, I've just got a lot of hope for these games personally, because I think that ever since Pokemon Wind's open world, it kind of lost a lot of what made the original games quite great, and hopefully it can bring that back with a bit more of perhaps a linear approach to the open world, if that's even possible. Let me know, are you excited about Pokemon Wind and Waves or Pokemon Not Your Thing anymore, and I'll see you next week for some more GRTV news."
